Healthy, tasty, convenient — these are the qualities consumers are looking for in almost every food choice they make. And nowhere are these qualities more important than at breakfast. Research from DSM has shown that:
- 57% of consumers want healthier breakfast products
- 46% are looking for new flavors
- 1 in 4 prepares and eats breakfast in less than 5 minutes a day
A quick stroll through the cereal aisle at the grocery store reveals what product many consumers are turning to in order to satisfy these requirements: granola. In the past few years, granola has grown from a small fraction of the market to commanding significant shelf space. Today’s granola options include flavors ranging from the standards oats and honey to vanilla blueberry, chocolate chunk, and even salted caramel apple.
For processors that want to capitalize on this breakfast trend with a cost-effective industrial granola solution, we’ve recently added the SENIUS granola baking line to our equipment portfolio.
The SENIUS granola baking line is a fully automated solution consisting of an impingement baking oven, a feeding conveyor, and a granola spreader. The equipment comes in three sizes with processing capacities between 300 and 990 pounds per hour. It’s favorably priced upfront and saves labor costs in the long-term compared to rack oven production.
Installation and set-up only takes 1 week, so you can start making granola as soon as possible. For facilities that aren’t currently allowing visitors, remote installation using augmented reality is available.
